I’ve added A Tropical Depression to the store interface. Profits from the sale of those songs will benefit the American Red Cross. I talked to Buzz (who sings on two of the tracks) and he was enthusiastic about the idea.
Three of the songs were written right after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the other was done right after the Indonesian tsunami, so releasing the songs for sale to benefit a disaster relief organization is very much in keeping with what moved me to write the songs in the first place. The recent flooding in the midwest has strained the Red Cross’s resources; the disaster is being compared to the devastation of hurricane Katrina. The Red Cross has said it needs $35 million to meet the needs of that disaster alone—and we’re not even halfway through hurricane season.
Even if you already have the songs—please tell everyone you know—and donate to the Red Cross. Let’s make a difference.
